Moss Lawns
When you think of water conservation, does “moss” come to mind? As much as 80 percent of water used at home is from outdoor use during the summer months, and most of that water goes towards maintaining the lawn. On top if that, Americans apply 67 million pounds of pesticides onto their lawns each year! Moss lawns can help reduce water and fertilizer use.
Viewer Tip: Moss lawns don’t require any fertilizers. Shady areas are best for moss lawns. Once they are established, they don’t need to be mowed and require very little water. Moss lawns also provide soil erosion control. Visit http://www.mossacres.com/product_moss_starter.asp to learn about the different methods on starting a moss lawn.
