Protecting Plants
Have you done some spring planting? Cold temperatures in the forecast will make new outdoor plant growth susceptible to frost or a killing freeze. Chilly winds can damage some plants.
Viewer Tip: You can protect outdoor plants from the cold by draping cloth sheets or tarps over them. Make sure these sheets touch the ground, which will ensure that they hold heat near the base of your plants. You can also shield plants with plastic buckets. Bring young and sensitive potted plants inside during cold weather to make sure they survive.
