Winter Wildlife Watching
B-roll video is available for this tip!
Winter is a great time to get outside and go wildlife watching! Some wild animals migrate south and some hibernate until spring, but a lot of creatures tough out the weather and are easy to see at this time of year.
Viewer Tip: With no leaves on the trees, your chances of seeing birds and even mammals is greater in the winter. Even if you don’t spot the actual animal, you can look for tracks in the snow or mud, empty nut shells, branches that have been bruised, or hollow trees and burrows where animals get out of the cold.
Make sure to dress warmly and bring binoculars! When you get too cold, head back inside and watch wildlife from indoors – just put out a birdfeeder and enjoy the view from your window.
