Help Summer Blooms Linger

One way to coax your flowers into lasting through a hot summer is dead-heading.  Simply pinch or shear back the spent flower heads before they set seed.  Very often, this will persuade the plants to flower again. Mints and sages, most of which handle heat well, benefit particularly from deadheading.
