The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, based at the University of Texas at Austin, was founded in 1982 by Former First Lady, Lady Bird Johnson and actress Helen Hayes to protect and preserve North America’s native plants and natural landscapes. Today, the mission of the Wildflower Center is to increase the sustainable use and conservation of native wildflowers, plants and landscapes.

Mount Washington Observatory is a private, non-profit scientific and educational institution organized under the laws of the state of New Hampshire.
