RSS Feeds
RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, is a Web syndication tool used for web sites and blogs to send you real time headlines and updates. It’s a great way to keep up to date with the latest from the Earth Gauge Tips library.
Our Feeds
Anytime you see this image
next to a link it means there is an RSS feed available for that category or sub-category of tips. To subscribe to the feed do one of the following:
- Click the feed icon, your browser will display the feed page for you. Just copy the link in the browser’s address bar and then paste it into your newsreader or email program to subscribe.
- Alternatively, you can right-click on the feed icon and then select “copy shortcut” or “copy link location” to get the feed address. Then paste it into your newsreader or email program to subscribe.
Either way, you’ll be automatically updated each time we post a tip in the category we’ve subscribed to and can read it at your leisure. If you’d like to subcribe to the entire Earth Gauge RSS feed and get updated on all additions to the site, copy and paste this link: http://www.earthgauge.net/feed, into your newsreader or email program.
Use Earth Gauge Feeds on Your Website
In addition to using RSS to keep yourself up to date on the latest from Earth Gauge, you can also use our feeds to keep your audience up to date through your own website. Using any number of free services, you can take a feed of your choice and publish it on your website. A good free service is Feed2JS, a free service that will generate some simple code for you to insert into your webpage to publish our feed. If you do this, we’d love to hear about it!
RSS Readers
In addition to standalonenewsreaders, many popular email programs or services allow you to subscribe to RSS feeds directly through them, some of these include Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook 2007 and many more. Check your email program’s help section to learn more
If your email program does not allow you to subscribe to feeds, you may need a standalone Newsreader (also known as a reader, RSS Aggregator, and news aggregator.) These are programs which interpret RSS feeds. There are many popular newsreaders but each has particular quirks that you’ll want to review to make sure that you get the one that best suits your needs. Click here for resources on newsreaders…
