Earthgauge Kids Corner
January Kids Corner
Have you ever heard of a broadcast meteorologistThis is the scientist on your local TV or radio news station who gives you the weather report. Our program, called Earth Gauge™, helps broadcast meteorologists talk about the environment and how it’s connected to weather. There are many ways weather and the environment are connected. Some examples are:
  • Birds migrating south before winter’s cold temperatures begin;
  • Rainwater washing litter from the street to your local river, causing pollution;
  • Air pollution affecting the health of kids with asthma;
  • Kids and their families staying safe from severe weather, like tornadoes and hurricanes.

You can make a difference in helping the environment and keeping yourself and your family safe from weather. Every month, you’ll see a new theme with a new quiz and activity you can try at home or school. Come back and see us again soon!
